MAT 26:1 Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, that He said to His disciples,
"You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified."
Jesus had just fished teaching His disciples a series of lesson in the form of parables. When He completed He looked at them and said, "You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified."
Jesus was fully aware of time. He understood just how important it is to make every moment count. He spent hours and days, weeks, and years, teaching and sharing the importance of life with His disciples. Here He is impressing on His disciples that He has only two more days to minister.
Because He is God, Jesus knew before He was born exactly how much time He would have available to accomplish His mission here on earth. Now His part was completed. We are not privy to that information concerning our lives. That is why God tells us in His word to “redeem the time for the days are evil.”
Regarding the importance of time in our lives, God sent a message to the church in Ephesus. See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. EPH 5:15-17
He also sent a like message to the church in Colossi. Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.
Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. COL 4:5-6
The message is as valid to the 21st century church as it was to the early church. Let me encourage to not let any opportunities pass you by. Simply do what Jesus asked us to. Share the good news.
JAM 4:14  whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
