The clock is ticking

There can be little doubt that for some today things are difficult. As a result of these difficult times there are those in their ignorance of what Scripture teaches who are attempting to date the end of the world. We are taught in First Corinthians 14:33  “For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

We read in Proverbs 4:7 ‘ Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.” There are several important things that must be understood when dealing with prophecy and the end times. One of those truths is recorded in GEN 6:3 And the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years."  In this instance God put a definite time on His forbearance for sinful man. History indicates that man ignored Gods warning, and the flood came as promised, God saved what was necessary for a new start. This was not the end of the world, only the end of a dispensation.

In Matthew 24:35-36 Jesus taught,  "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.  "But of that day and hour no one knows, no, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. No one knows that exact time but we are made aware of specific events.

At the prompting of the Holy Spirit Paul wrote two letters to the church in Thessalonica. The intent of these letters was to help the church understand Gods plan for the church in the end times. In verse thirteen of the fourth chapter of his first letter Paul writes, “I don’t want you to be ignorant brethren.” Gods desire is that the church understands His plan so we can experience the peace that Jesus refers to in John 14:27.

In these letters Paul explains that there will be a period of great tribulation in the world someday. Jesus said in Matthew 24:21   "For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.” But Paul explains that the church will be spared this experience. Three specific events must take place prior to the tribulation period of seven years that Jesus speaks of in Matthew 24:21. These events must take place before the end of the world.

Second Thessalonians 2;3 reveals two very important truths. (1) “That day will no come unless the falling away comes first.” the Greek word for “falling away” is (apostasia) defection from truth, or apostasy from the church. (2) The man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition (the antichrist). (3) In First Thessalonians 4:13-17 Paul assures the church that Jesus will deliver the believers from the judgment of God to come on the unbelievers. Note in this passage Jesus does not come to earth, the church goes to meet Him in the air. In First Thessalonians 1:10 and, 5:4 Paul further assures the church of their deliverance from the judgment of the tribulation period described in the book of The Revelation of Jesus Christ chapters six through nineteen.

Luke 12:40  "Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."

The clock is ticking. Are you ready?

JOH 3:16   "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

1JO 1:9  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If you have never confessed your sin and acknowledged Jesus as your Savior, right now would be the best time to do that

2CO 6:2  For He says: "In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you." Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
