POPHECY AND THE END TIMES.
For as long as I can recall there have been many who have informed us that the world is coming to an end on a specific date. Obviously none of these predictions were correct. With all of the interest in this subject it begs the question, “will the world ever come to an end?” The answer to this question is yes. The world as it exists is slated for an eventual total end. We read in second Peter 3:10 “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.” The unanswerable question is exactly when the world as it exists will come to an end. Jesus said in Matthew 24:36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, no, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.” The exact date of this cataclysmic event is unknown to anyone But God the Father Himself. There is however credible evidence found in Scriptural prophecy that sheds light on this subject.
From our previous lessons in Scriptural prophecy we have been made aware of undeniable fulfillment of historical prophetical events. With the recorded evidence of fulfilled historical prophecy, there is no logical reason to doubt that prophecy regarding future events will be fulfilled as well. For the purpose of this study we will rely only on Scripture and recorded historical events. For clarity in understanding this lesson will be confined to the prophecy commonly referred to as “Daniels seventy week prophecy” recorded in the closing chapters of the book of Daniel.
In preparation for this study it will be to your advantage to read Daniel chapters nine through twelve several times.
