Daniel nine seventy week prophecy Part one.
  • Confusion and Conclusion.
    Part one:

Daniels Seventy-Week Prophecy:

Scripture clearly teaches that “God is not the author of confusion.” This truth is so important that the Hoy Spirit prompted the apostle Paul to record it in his first letter to the Corinthian church.

“For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.” (1st Corinthians 14:33)

It should be obvious by what we read in the above verse of Scripture that God desires that every one of His followers have a clear understanding of His message. His desire is that we understand “His” message, not that of someone’s interpretation. With this in mind, get your “Bible”, open it to Daniel chapter nine and read with me verses 24-27.

DAN 9:24 "Seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.
25 "Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince, there shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublesome times.
26 "And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; and the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. the end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; but in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. and on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, even until the consummation, which is determined, is poured out on the desolate."

Using these four verses as a launching platform we will follow the recognized and accepted hermeneutical approach to the study of God’s word. In a effort to maintain a simple and clear understanding of what God teaches about the end times and the people involved we will limit the acquisition of answers for questions to the Bible text itself. In order to arrive at the answer we seek it will be necessary to consult Both the Old and New Testament. God has packed so much prophecy in these four verses that it will take weeks of researching the Bible to come to complete understanding of what they reveal to Gods people. Be patient, ask yourself questions, take notes, underline and highlight your Bible. You will be amazed at how easy it is to understand when we walk through the Scripture one step at time.

Caution: Don’t rush ahead, don’t be impatient, and don’t make assumptions. (Do not seek answers outside the Bible) Wait for the Scripture to clarify itself. (Psalm 46:10)

• We start part one of this study by reading several times
Daniel 9:24-27.

DAN 9:24 "Seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.

Study verse 9:24 and answer the following questions. (Write your answers in your notebook)

1. Time mentioned.
2. People addressed.
3. City mentioned.
4. Six purposes to be accomplished.

These are the centerpieces of this prophecy. In part two of this study we will begin to explore the process that will uncover the keys to understanding Gods message of things and times to come.

PS: Don’t forget your Bible.
